Fair trade Territories

On November 20, the National Jury for the campaign for Fairtrade Territories awarded the label « Fairtrade Territory » to the village of Wittisheim, where Les Jardins de Gaïa is based, and to the city and “Eurométropole” of Strasbourg. We are particularly pleased with this recognition because we worked on this issue with the elected representatives.

The promotion of fair trade is in our DNA

Promoting fair trade and also organic and biodynamic farming and working with small producers has been part of our DNA since we started in 1994 and can be found in many of our projects and initiatives in the tea gardens as well as here in France. As part of our involvement with Colecosol (the collective for the promotion of fair trade in Alsace), we have worked towards making elected representatives and those in charge of the project in Strasbourg aware of what is required and we are pleased that things are also moving towards more responsible consumption in Alsace.

This label, which shows that the two areas have made an undertaking to implement new and innovative initiatives to support a more just and solidarity-based economy, is another step!
